What is binge eating disorder?

It may be difficult to know if you need binge eating disorder treatment. Also known as compulsive eating, binge eating disorder involves recurrent episodes of binge eating, characterized by eating large amounts of food, often quickly, and a sense of loss of control over eating behaviors.
