CARFIn December 2012, the River Centre Clinic Received Another Three-Year Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for the following Programs:
    Partial Hospitalization: Mental Health (Adults)
    Partial Hospitalization: Mental Health (Children and Adolescents)
    Residential Treatment: Mental Health (Children and Adolescents)
    Outpatient Treatment: Mental Health (Adults)
    Outpatient Treatment: Mental Health (Children and Adolescents)

    Another Three-Year CARF Accreditation Received in December 2012

    The River Centre Clinic was again awared a three-year accreditation by CARF following the most recent survey completed at the end of 2012. The three-year accreditation is the longest period awarded by CARF and reflects the RCC commitment to meeting the unique needs of each person served. Below are some of the comments from the 2012 survey report:

    "RCC has dedicated and supportive leadership members who are committed to maintaining quality services that provide positive outcomes."

    "The organization has an excellent and well-earned reputation with funding and referral sources. RCC is considered a service of choice for persons suffering from eating disorders."

    "Programs offered to adolescents and adults with eating disorders have been specifically designed to meet their complex needs. The approach to treatment is based on extensive research, addresses coexisting conditions, and includes a nonjudgmental approach to nutritional rehabilitation."

    "RCC has talented, dedicated, and highly motivated staff members who embody the organization's intent to help adults and adolescents with eating disorders reclaim their health and their lives."

    "Interviews with the persons serviced indicate that staff members are perceived to be a knowledgeable and caring group of gracious, competent clinicians who take the time to get to know the individuals and families, and treat them with dignity and respect."

    "The organization maintains a homelike setting in a manner that enhances the therapeutic environment for adolescents, and has developed successful strategies to assist them in continuing their education while in treatment and to achieve the end goal of reuniting them with their families."

    "RCC is conveniently located in a beautiful urban area, overlooking a river, with an attractively constructed building for services. The organization displays a strong commitment to providing services in a well-maintained, modern facility with thoughtful planning given to kitchen and dining areas for the persons served."

    "Colorful and inspirational artwork, including framed pictures created by the persons served, is evident throughout the organization."

    "The organization has an active safety program that ensures that services are provided in a healthy and safe environment."

    "The RCC has been identified by its referral sources as the best kept secret among behavioral health peers, the community, other funding sources, and persons served."

    "RCC has demonstrated unique leadership to persons served in the treatment of eating disorders."

    "The RCC has a respected staff that communicates well with referral agencies, the Sylvania school system, insurance companies, and regional health maintenance organizations" ... "Staff members are noted to provide individualized episodes of care for each person served and are not viewed among peers as just cookie-cutter care professionals."

    "RCC residential services are housed in a safe, modern, well-furnished facility, and it is obvious that staff members demonstrate their compassion, professionalism, and dedication to service on a daily basis. These qualities foster a healthy environment of trust evident among persons served."


What Does CARF Accreditation Mean?
The CARF accreditation represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization. The Three-Year Accreditation outcome indicates that the River Centre Clinic has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
